Built my artist portfolio

I decided to build an artist portfolio with Pixpa after my free trial. The initial setup was quite intuitive using the drag and drop editor. I chose a clean portfolio template and customized it a bit with my own colors. Uploading my artwork was quick, and it handles large image files well, which was important for me. I also set up an online store to sell prints, and integrating Stripe for payments was straightforward. The only minor hiccup was figuring out the shipping rates for different regions, but I eventually got it sorted. My site went live smoothly and looks professional. I even used the blog builder for some behind-the-scenes posts. It took about a week to get everything looking just right.

Good for photos, some quirks

I signed up for an annual plan to get my photography portfolio online. The website builder itself is quite good for showcasing images and the client galleries feature is really useful for sharing proofs. I liked how straightforward it was to upload everything. My main gripe was with customizing some of the smaller design elements – it felt a bit limited compared to what I expected. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about connecting my domain, which was a plus. Good value for what it offers, but could use more flexibility in the design editor.

Quick portfolio launch

Needed a portfolio fast. Pixpa let me build one easily. Uploaded images, picked a theme, and it was done. Connected my domain without issues. Solid platform for photographers.

Easy to set up my site

I needed a place to put my photography stuff and decided to try Pixpa. It was pretty easy to get my portfolio website going. I picked one of the templates and just started dropping my photos in. It looks good and I didn't have to fuss with a lot of techie things. Overall a smooth experience.

hey, wondering if pixpa has a student discount? like, i'm still in school and every little bit helps.

D Daniel Taylor 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they do! I got one when I signed up last year. Check their site, usually a link for it in the footer or support section.

Pretty sure I saw something about that. They usually have a page explaining how to apply for it, probably need to verify your student status.

planning to get an annual plan. are the 50% off deals legit, or is that just for new customers?

O Olivia G. 3 weeks ago
The really big discounts, like 50% off, are usually for your first year if you go annual. Renewal tends to be less of a discount.

Yeah, they often have pretty good introductory offers for annual subs. Just make sure to read the fine print, sometimes it's specific to certain plans.

Anyone know if you can use your own domain name with Pixpa? Already have one for my brand.

D Danielle Ramirez 6 days ago
Definitely can. It was one of the first things I set up. Pretty easy to connect it in the settings.

Yes, you can. They have instructions for it, usually just involves changing some DNS settings with your domain registrar. Takes a bit to propagate but works fine.

Thinking about signing up for Pixpa, but curious if anyone has thoughts on it vs Squarespace for a photography portfolio site?

A Adam Sanchez 1 month ago
I used Squarespace before and switched to Pixpa. For photos, it just felt more geared towards that. Less fussing around to get things looking right with galleries.

Squarespace is more general, Pixpa really shines for photographers and artists. The client galleries and e-commerce for prints are super smooth.

do they charge extra for web hosting or is that just included with the plans?

S Susan Smith 2 weeks ago
Hosting is included, you don't pay anything separate for that. It's an all-in-one kinda deal.

Nah, it's all part of the subscription. No hidden hosting fees or anything like that.
